body
Our body communicates to us. When we are stressed, we may have headaches, stomachaches, back and neck pain, restlessness or lethargy, difficulty sleeping and perhaps even panic attacks.
If we pay attention, our body will tell us what we need to tend to.
sleep
Try and get a nice chunk of Z’s every night. Restful sleep is the best defense against stress and can positively affect your mood.
nutrition
What you ingest stays as your guest for a while in your body’s system. Incorporate whole grains, vegetables and fruits into your diet. Reduce your sugar and caffeine intake. Stay hydrated. Carry healthy snacks when possible.
exercise
Start small. Try it with a friend. Get your body moving every day.
stretching and strengthening
We Angelenos tend to spend a great deal of time in our cars and a even greater portion with our heads bent downward looking at our cell phones, i-pads and computers. Our bodies pay the price. Get out of your head and begin to care for the body that holds it up. Stretch your muscles and strengthen your core.
